M. Shane Cook, Associate AIA
Shane Cook Designs is a full service design firm providing services in both residential and commercial “ground up” new construction and interior design, as well as additions and/or remodeling. Project management services are also offered. We are known for our expertise in designing modern contemporary structures and spaces. We are also often recommended for lighting design consultation to feature home art collections. Our projects have been featured in many local, regional, and national magazines.
Shane Cook is a 1990 graduate of the University of Arkansas’ School of Architecture. An art and architecture study in Italy was completed in conjunction with the University of Texas at Arlington. While is architecture school he also worked as a studio assistant to internationally known artist Donald Roller Wilson.
Upon graduation Shane moved to Houston, Texas where he spent 13 years with Morris Architects. While there he concentrated on designing commercial office, server, and healthcare spaces throughout the United States. By the time he left in 2002 to open his own practice Shane was the senior designer for the interiors group and held the position of Director of eCommerce for all four of the firm’s national offices.
Shane’s training in architecture and his work with corporate interiors have led him to develop a unique form of interior architecture, as well as more informed building designs. Shane has gained much recognition with his accomplishments through both local and national design awards and magazine publications; one of the most fun of those being an episode for HGTV’s show “House Crashers.”
Shane’s other interests include drawing, contemporary fine art, and product design. His work has been exhibited at the Lawndale Arts Center group show “Art by Architects” as well as other group and solo shows featuring his painting, furniture, and lighting designs.
